Hi I’m Zoe, the Netzarim Assistant Unit Leader and I’m Ella the Netzarim Unit Leader. Last night we were so excited to have our final Overnight of the summer. This is both our first summers working here at Camp Mountain Chai. In Netzarim we have 2 unit values which are Compassion and B’tzelem Elohim that we incorporate into our programs each night. This overnight was the best one yet! We started off with a peaceful ninety minute hike to the campground. When we got there, we set up camp and sat down for a dinner of chicken tenders, salad, and chips. We gathered around the campfire and played “Name That Tune”. Shapirit was incredible and got most of the answers in the Disney rounds, but it became a pretty even game after we began choosing songs at random.
After the game, we brought out the star of the night: SMORES! Delicious as always. A few kids and I got into a very passionate discussion about dogs, which led to us making up song parodies about our dogs at home (shoutout Dreidel, Rosie, and Lucy). After a wonderful, very chilly evening, we all crawled into our sleeping bags, took in the night sky and stargazed. All in all, it was a beautiful night.
