INTERSESSION: Each cabin will undergo deep-cleaning between sessions. As a result, we will not be offering any programming between sessions (except for Kavanah and SIT). If you need assistance finding housing between sessions, please contact the camp office, we would be happy to assist you.

Sibling

Any family that sends two or more children are eligible to receive a $75 discount per child.

Receive $100 off your summer tuition for each camper you refer to CMC.

Home Presentations

Support camp and save money!

  • Host a “Mountain Chai Mingle” at your home or virtually (receive a $100 credit simply for hosting) 
  • Invite at least three families who have not sent their child(ren) to CMC in the past.
  • CMC Staff will provide snacks, drinks, and everything else to make this a fun and informative experience for both kids and parents.
  • Receive an additional $100 off your tuition for each new camper that registers for camp as a result of the event.

Jewish Professional Worker

Jewish Communal Professionals (30 hours or more per week) receive 25% off summer camp fees. Thank you for supporting our Kehillah (community)!

*Percentage based discounts are taken off the base rate of the session, after other discounts, grants, and incentives have been applied. Kavanah Tuition is not eligible. Atid trip fees and other add-ons will not be discounted.

GRANTS, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AND OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS

FIRST-TIME CAMPER GRANTS: Camp Mountain Chai, Jewish Federation of San Diego, and the Foundation for Jewish Camp have partnered to reduce the financial commitment for campers to attend immersive Jewish summer experiences for the first time. Please visit www.onehappycamper.org to find how you can save up to $1,000 for your child’s first summer at Camp Mountain Chai.

Payments and Fees

Health, Safety, and Security Fee: The health, safety and security of all our campers and staff is of the utmost importance to us. A supplemental fee of $135 per camper (regardless of the number of sessions a camper attends) will be applied to offset our substantial costs and on-going expenses. Deposit: $500/child per session deposit is required at time of registration.
For families applying for financial assistance, please select one of the “Scholarship” options on the Billing Preference page of the camper application.

eCheck: Credit Card payments cost camp significant fees with each transaction. Camp families will enjoy a 2% savings on all e-check transactions! To pay with an eCheck you need your routing number and account number from your checking account. This information can be found on your check or on a statement from your bank.

Kavanah: 50% of full balance is due March 1st. Full balance is due April 15th.

Refund Policy

Standard Camp Program and Staff-in-Training

Prior to February 1st:
Families are eligible for a full refund of fees paid.

February 1 – March 31:
Families are eligible for a full refund of fees paid, less $100.

April 1 – May 31:
Full $500/camper deposit is forfeited.  Any additional tuition payments that had been made will be fully refunded.

After May 31:
No refunds will be given.

Kavanah

Prior to April 1: Same as Standard Camp Program (above).

April 1 – April 30: 50% of total program cost will be refunded, less the non-refundable $100 registration fee

After April 30: No refunds will be given

CMC Financial Aid Recipients
CMC Financial Aid

Families who have applied for financial assistance from CMC have 1 week from the award offer date to either accept or cancel the offer. If canceled for financial reasons within the initial 7-day period, a full refund of all fees paid will be given. Cancellations made outside the 7-day period will follow the standard cancellation policy mentioned above.

One Happy Camper, Synagogue, and More

If you received a scholarship from a synagogue or other Jewish organization, CMC will be in contact with them about the award. One Happy Camper status will be updated to show your camper did not attend (or attended less camp than expected) and you may qualify for the grant next season.

Behavioral & Medical Reasons

Refunds will not be made if a Camper has attended any portion of the session at Camp nor will there be any proration for missed days. This covers all circumstances, including, but not limited to: Camper’s mental, emotional, and/or physical health (includes Flu, COVID-19, etc.), Camper’s refusal or inability to participate in the normal activities at Camp, Camper’s violation of any rules/regulations or policies at Camp for which the Camper has been provided notice, such as but not limited to those described in the Parent Handbook, website, camp forms, Code of Conduct, etc.

Under no circumstances will Camp Mountain Chai consider exception requests or grant exceptions to this policy. Therefore, we highly recommend that you consider purchasing trip insurance to provide financial protection for your camp fees.
