Meet CMC’s 2024 Embassy Generals

Embassy is just around the corner. At this moment, our campers don’t know what day it is taking place. Please try to keep it a secret as we break for the program on Friday morning. For those of you who are new, Embassy is an all camp capture the flag program. The entire camp is divided into two teams: green and blue.

Each summer, two remarkable staff are given the honor as our fearless Generals. This summer, our Green team General is Alain and our Blue Team General is Noam. They both have put in a tremendous amount of work into making this program one for the books. We can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Below, I have interviewed our two generals so that you have an opportunity to learn more about who they are and what they are most excited for in terms of this amazing program.

Question #1: Hi guys! Can you please tell me a little bit about yourself: (who are you? What’s your position this summer? How many years you have been going here for?)

Alain: Hi i’m Alain, this is my second summer here at CMC and this summer I am the Head Lifeguard and I am from Mexico.

Noam: Hi, I’m Noam and this is my 1st summer at CMC. I am the Tarbut Israel specialist and I came all the way from Israel.

Question #2: When it comes to Embassy, what are you most excited about?

Alain: I am most excited to help lead the campers to victory and plan and work together to create strategies for the game.

Noam: I am excited to see all the kids and staff get excited and really into the game and just bring that spirit and ruach.

Question #3: How did you feel when they asked you to be a General?

Alain: I was so excited when they asked me. I love the game Embassy and am so excited to be one of the Generals this summer. It really is an honor and I hope I can bring my team to victory.

Noam: Honestly I was so surprised when they asked me, I had no idea. I am so just so excited and happy that I get to be a part of this program and to get all the campers hyped.

Question #4: What goes into being a General?

Alain: So many things go into being a General. Helping create the maps of camp and puzzle pieces and lots of time learning about the game and rules so we can help teach the game to the staff.

Noam: A lot of hard work and time. Making the boundaries all around camp and figuring out where to put the embassies so that we can make it safe for all campers and staff.

Question #5: What has been your favorite moment so far?

Alain: I loved doing the break for the campers and introducing that Embassy was happening tonight. Just feeling their energy and excitement was so much fun, I loved it.

Noam: My favorite moment so far was when we got to reveal to the staff that Alain and I were the Generals this summer. We played loud music and ran out onto the sports field. Everyone was so excited and cheering us on, it really made  me feel special and lucky to be a part of this program.

Question #6: What do you hope kids and yourself get out of Embassy this year?

Alain:  My hope for the campers this year is for them to have fun, to face their fears and work as a team in their squads. My wish for myself is to challenge myself as a leader at this camp and work together with my staff and squads and win this game.

Noam: My hope for the campers is for them to create new friends and new memories during the Embassy. My wish for myself is to enjoy every moment of the game and not be stressed because at the end of the day it’s an amazing program.
