Cabins and Food
Cabins
Our carpeted cabins are fun spaces to hang out, play cards, listen to music, chat with friends, and more. No need to go outside in the middle of the night at CMC; all of our cabins have bathrooms and showers inside!
Imagine having a sleep over with 10-15 of your best friends; that’s what camp is all about. Our counselors live in the cabin with you, facilitating lifelong friendships and caring for you around the clock.
Nutritious Food at Camp... Yum!
Food at camp is an integral part of the Camp Mountain Chai experience. After all, we eat three meals a day!
Our kitchen is nut-free and all meals are Kosher-Style. This means we will continue to ensure that meat and dairy are never mixed and non-kosher items like shellfish or pork are not served. As a pluralistic camp, we take pride in accommodating the diverse dietary needs of our campers, including providing kosher meals (glatt kosher meat) for those who require them. Additionally, our culinary team will offer gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options at every meal. You can now select kosher meals and indicate any other dietary preferences in the health forms. This exciting update allows us to provide even more diverse meal options for our campers.
Please feel free to call our office if you would like to discuss your dietary needs further. Our carefully prepared menus are “kid-friendly” and varied. There is always something healthy and delicious to eat.
Every breakfast includes a yogurt bar, an oatmeal bar, a cereal bar, fresh cut fruit, jelly and toast. During lunch and dinner, we provide a full salad bar with tons of options that gives choices to campers.
Our mission is to deliver excellent, healthy and delicious meals prepared by expert chefs and classically trained professionals certified in nutrition and sanitation.
We provide a menu board (right) at the main food service station so that those with special dietary needs make appropriate choices. During each meat meal there is a protein based vegetarian alternative. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan meals and desserts are also prepared when the primary options cannot accommodate certain special diets.
During the day, we also offer a snack table where campers can get fruit such as peaches, plums, pears, apples and bananas at their convenience.
